When the job needs measurement, not pictures
Most aerial work is photography: one good frame of a place. Mapping is different. Hundreds of overlapping frames are flown in a grid and stitched into a single scaled overhead image, so the result is something you can measure on rather than something you look at.
What people use it for
Four situations this actually gets booked for. If yours is close to one of them, it is worth a conversation.
Site and land overviews you can measure on
A stitched overhead of a parcel, a site or a development at a consistent scale. Useful for planning documents, board packets and anywhere a plat drawing is accurate but unreadable.
Progress and earthworks
Grid flights repeated through a project so the same ground can be compared between visits, rather than two photographs taken from wherever the pilot happened to stand.
Yards, stockpiles and layout
Contractor yards, material storage and equipment lots photographed as one scaled overhead, so what is where can be seen and measured without walking the site with a wheel.
A current base map for a document
Townships, boards and grant applications routinely need a recent overhead of the site under discussion. An orthomosaic flown this month beats a satellite image from whenever the satellite last passed.
What you receive
- Stitched orthomosaic of the mapped area, delivered as a high-resolution image
- The individual grid frames, unmodified, alongside the stitch
- Flight date recorded, so repeat passes can be compared against each other
- Secure download link, non-exclusive perpetual license for your own use
What this is and is not
This is photogrammetry, not a survey. It produces a scaled, measurable image — it does not produce a stamped survey document, set a boundary or replace a licensed surveyor. Where a project needs survey-grade control or a certified figure, this is the thing you bring to the surveyor, not instead of one.
