Through the building, not over it

An FPV quad is a different aircraft flown a different way. It is small, fast and flown first-person, which makes it the only thing that goes through a doorway, down a stairwell, between two buildings or along a rooftop in one unbroken shot. Most operators do not fly them, because it takes real stick time rather than a flight-planning app.

What people use it for

Four situations this actually gets booked for. If yours is close to one of them, it is worth a conversation.

  • One-take property walkthroughs

    Through the front door, through the house, out over the yard, without a cut. For a listing or a venue it does what a floor plan and a gallery together cannot: it shows how the space connects.

  • Venues and event spaces

    Barns, halls, breweries and reception spaces sell on atmosphere and flow. A continuous flight through a room full of people carries both in a way a static frame does not.

  • Facilities and interiors

    Warehouses, plants and large interiors where a walkthrough on foot takes twenty minutes and a flight takes ninety seconds.

  • Exterior proximity

    Down a tree line, along a roof, through a gap between structures. The shots that read as expensive because until recently they were.

Indoor flight is a different job

Inside a building there is no GPS and no room for error, so an indoor flight is walked and planned before it is flown, and the space usually needs to be clear of people while it happens. It takes longer to set up than to shoot. Outdoor FPV still runs under Part 107 like any other flight, with the same airspace and over-people rules.
